TransitCenter
Transit Advocacy for New York City
TransitCenter is an advocacy group dedicated to improving urban mobility nationwide. Since 2017, we’ve worked closely with the organization’s communications lead to create several videos a year. This set represents all of the issues we’ve tackled together in our hometown.
Making Transit Work
Making Transit Work for Parents and Caregivers illustrates the challenges of traveling with children on transit – and how it doesn't have to be! In a playful way, with the help of a real NYC mom we show transformation that could happen with simple, straightforward, and affordable changes.
Bus Bunching
This campaign addressed a problem for transit agencies everywhere: bus bunching. This animation demonstrated how service gaps are created by traffic and scheduling and showed how their proposed strategies would best combat the problem.
Congestion Pricing
The “Congestion Pricing" campaign promotes Governor Cuomo’s Fix NYC proposal to bring Congestion Pricing to New York City. Through fun and approachable animation (and a little New-Yorker humor) this video addressed common concerns over the system and explained the benefits and positive impact it would have on New Yorkers.
MTA Fare Capping Explainer Video
The "Fare Capping" campaign promoted a new and improved public transit fare structure for NYC's MTA. This video gathered public support by explaining the details of the system and the rider perks through easily digestible animation.
Bus Stop Balancing
This video was the first of a series of animations created for TransitCenter. We created a collection of characters to help promote their initiatives, which have been expanded on since for the other installments, all promoting transit-related advocacy initiatives.
